It’s very often the case
that the last I see of a red kite that has spent time recovering in the
rehabilitation centre is its flight back into the wild.
However, I have received
not only news but also a photograph of one such bird.
The kite had been found
in a poor state last July near Aberystwyth having recently fledged and brought
here to the Gigrin Rehabilitation Aviaries to be cared for.
When it was again ready
for the great outdoors it was rung and tagged as Z1 by Tony Cross, and released
on 17 August 2010.
Whilst out birding last
Sunday morning ( at Mynydd Ty alwyn, Llangynwyd,Maesteg, South Wales) Jeff Slocombe
spotted Z1, and took the photograph on in this post.
Nice to see your not wasting your time Chris.
